This is a great space, if I ever won the lottery, I'd love to come back here and help. But right now, we need help. Last year we had to move back to TN from Ohio due to loss of jobs. We didn't have a choice and moved into a house my cousin owned which should have been condemned. It had electrical problems, mold, etc.. My husband found a fantastic job and I got one part time, working when he was at home so one of us could be with our 10 year old son. This year, the heat went bad and we received an $800 electric bill. Since we were living paycheck to paycheck, I could not pay rent and electric. The landlord (yes, my wonderful cousin) refused to make any repairs except the heating unit, but I lost my job a couple of weeks later. Since then, we've been evicted, owe $700 to the electric company and are currently living in an extended stay motel room and being eaten alive by bedbugs. We can't save anything since all of his paycheck goes to pay the rent here. Now, I've just found out that I'm pregnant (yes we were using birth control, it's not 100% effective). No insurance, and I'm high risk with severe anemia, my age (46) and the fact I had an IUD. We need to find a nice safe place for our children, but can't save anything. We need around $2000 to pay off the electric and pay a 1st months plus deposit. Can anyone out there help?
